First break & run

Daydreaming about pool

So I started playing pool at the beginning of July and have been playing pretty much everyday since then. Yesterday was the first time that after breaking, I ran all 9 balls at once. Felt pretty great.

There isn't really a point to this thread, just felt like I should share my excitement about getting better at the game.

Running a rack after only a month playing is quite an accomplishment! Congratulations! Keep up the good work and you will see many more run outs.

Nice achievement. Congratulation.
I ran couple days ago, my first 2 pack in a 9 Ball tournament, felt great, but lose that match :)

Congrats! My first tournament break & run took a few years, but they should start happening more frequently from here on out.

I think he was a snooker player before trying pool. Canada.

Is snooker popular in Canada? I've yet to see a snooker table in the bars near where I live!

I'd definitely like to try snooker eventually though. Especially since it seems to pay a lot at the pro level compared to pool, in Europe at least.

Congrats I don't remember when I broke and ran my first rack of 9 ball, but I'm almost 100 percent sure it was well after 1 month of playing the game. The thing about this game is 1 is never enough. Should be good fuel for the fire.

Maybe not in bars, but definitely as a sport in Canada it's way more popular than in the US.

If you've never played a cue sport, even with playing every day, it's really nice to get a break and run just months after starting.

That's pretty strong congrats! You'll have more to come

Congrats!

I remember my first break and run of 8-ball & 10-ball, but don't recall my first break and run of 9-ball.

I ran my first rack of 8-ball in my first year of playing.
My first 8 & out in one pocket and BnR in 10-ball after my first year.

It's a good sense of accomplishment. Now you're going to drive yourself crazy attempting bigger and bigger packages!

Seeing as how you're from Trois-Rivieres...
....you might take to three cushion billiards even quicker.
:)

Sorry but I don't believe anyone who just picked up the cue a month ago
is breaking and running out a month later.
Either this is outright bs or the op has been playing a lot of pool before.
If he said he'd spent 8hrs a day in the pool hall for the last 6 months then
yes I would believe that. AND still find it incredibly good.
