How did Core miss that first 9?
OMG, she's human.

Hey Joey, how's it going?

Is this new coverage? You see them two so often I figured it was old.

So did karen look good? i heard someone liked her "rack"
Seriously, the joke on Karen's rack is getting old.
About the match. Race to 7 for US Finals?
Jeesh.
Mitch Lawrence was at his best again. Blabbering fool.
"Striking Viking had an awesome week finishing SEVENTH."
Great. I guess.

Karen missed the first 9-ball. Kinda bad since the pockets were off the factory Gold Crown IV.
Down 3 zip, Allison was hooked on one ball and she kicked the wrong way from the side leaving an opening. That's the difference between the female pros and the male pros. A male pro would have kicked from the end rail and send the ball across the table where there were a 7 balls. I was flabberghasted when did this.
They tied at 6. karen did not have a shot after the break. Safety battle ensued and Allison escaped for the win.
Good ole ESPN edited the match. Great. Race to 7 for tv and it was edited.

I was wondering about the race to 7 thing.

Yeah the race to seven seemed kind of odd? The stats they kept showing for their previous matches were races to nine but all of the televised matches were to 7? plus no double loss required for the hot seat. That is just pathetic and people say that KT screws the game to get the tv audience.

Yes, it's pathetic as a professional sporting event to have the length and format of the tournament be dictated to them by the broadcasting company like this, but on the other hand the WPBA have been successfully producing and marketing their tour this way for longer than any other Pool organization in the USA and are still going.

I'm sure the players don't like it either, but it is better than the alternative, which is no TV and therefore even less sponsorship and press coverage. Since no other organization has managed to get anything like the coverage the WPBA gets on a consistent basis I really don't think anyone has the grounds to be critical. Clearly the WPBA willingness to compromise and accommodate ESPN is part of the reason for their success and whilst I'd love to see better quality tournament coverage (Perhaps a 2-hour special for final matches in a race to 11 format?) I certainly don't want to see the WPBA coverage disappear as a consequence.

TV matches ...

Karen and Allison have been on TV so much that I
don't even have to watch it to know how it goes.
The only time that Karen beats Allison is usually when
Allison's game is not up to par for some reason.

Otherwise, Allison outsmarts Karen into making a
mistake that she capitalizes on to win.

More players would do themselves better by thinking
about the mental mistakes they make, because they
make them time and time again in the same situations.
Kind of like when a person only dates a certain type,
and then complains 20 years later about never having
a good lasting relationship.

This proves the point that, even though a race to 7 is consdiered too short by most people, the winner is still clearly the superior player. You can clearly see this by the consistency with which she wins these short races. I don't have the numbers to hand (Does anyone have the real numbers?) but my guess would be Ms. Fisher must be about 4-1 over Ms. Corr in Finals victories at present.

If they are going to edit the match anyway...why not edit a race to 13 finals?

I think the Kim / Fisher match was better than the finals.....I was impressed by Kim...don't take this the wrong way, but she played "man style" ...she gets around the table with great rythum and has a more powerful stroke....JMO
