Fixed my cue table issue

The lock-ups with cue table bit me on some more important issues so I finally followed Credo's advice today and unloaded and reinstalled JAVA and Shockwave. This did fix my issues.

I used windows control panel to remove the programs then ran crap cleaner which did find four things JAVA had left behind in my registry. Then I shut down and cold booted my computer. Supposedly no difference between a reboot and a cold boot but I have found this to be untrue in the past so a cold boot for me. I reloaded JAVA first, then Shockwave.

Thanks to the folks that helped me. Hope this helps the others that had the same issue I did.

I have tried to do a cuetable layout myself without any luck. Maybe I need to clean up my puter too. Thanks for info.

...btw you now have a heavy weight that doesnt crash as opposed to my lightweight taht crashes =( But I'll be fixin it tomorrow =)

Only in my dreams is this machine crash free now!

Only two things cause this Vista machine to crash, anything or nothing! It is a lot better than the first Vista machine I bought and hauled back to the store, horsepower helps, but it reminds me it is a Vista machine every now and then. I have to load some niche software on it soon and I am really dreading that.

I gave my one size fits all answer to those "how would you play this" posts ages ago:

When it is a tough shot I normally hit it way the hell too hard, miss the pocket at least an inch and a half with the object ball, go four to six rails with the cue ball, and scratch. It's a technique picked up from watching Minnesota Fats. If you are probably gonna miss anyway, you might as well miss with style!

As is often the case with minor software issues, the hardest part is getting me started on them. I'm still comfortable with hardware but I hate messing with software. I feel blind and stupid now only knowing a tiny fraction of what I once did. Thanks again for the simple version, I could have used the print out and the long version but I really didn't want to! I survived ten or twelve pages of instructions for a fix awhile back and was very surprised that the computer did too.
