Ok I need to vent !! I have sold a lot on ebay in the past and have never had an issue. Ebay has made changes some time ago that sellers cannot leave negative feed back to buyers, but buyers can leave some for seller !?@! WTF. I had an issue with a buyer today over such petty crap it was pathetic but now the buyer wins...always.

I refuse to sell anything more on ebay as not only are the fee's over the top but the rules have changed such that a seller is left standing naked in the wind !

Ok I'm done, time for a scotch !

Happened to me a little over a year ago. I sold a cue with a buyer satisfaction guarantee, but he didn't like the shaft for some reason, never found out why, and he left me negative feedback with absolutely no communication about why. I left negative for the buyer in a positive, which isn't the same, but gave me some satisfaction anyway.:D

I have bought and sold thousands of dollars worth of silver on e-bay and had a deadbeat bidder who refused to pay, i reported him to keep from having to pay fee's myself, and he left me a negative. They don't have to actually buy, just be high bidder. Anyone see somthing wrong with this?

Goes without saying but until there is an alternative to both EBay and Pay Pal, they dictate the rules and the rest of us suck the big one.

It would be grand to see that happen. Then you'd see them scramble to make things right. When you face the fact that you're fighting to be king of the hill, you might be forced to change your evil ways.

Long, long overdue, in my opinion. We've been selling almost 11 years and the way it is now just sucks. They need competition!!

Ebay sucks! My Dad was buying a car on Ebay and had worked out a deal with the seller. The seller still wanted to do the deal through Ebay to give him some security, so my Dad put in a larger bid to make sure he would be the high bidder. Some idiot places a bid with a huge number so that they can then see the amount that was bid from the previous bidder. He then retracts his bid and places another bid $1 under my Dads maximum so that his bid would be pushed up to the max.

It didn't matter because my Dad had already agreed on a price for the car but looking at the guy who forced the bid to the max I saw he had done the exact same thing before. I notified Ebay about this guy and they basically just said that if someone wants to do that it isn't against their policies.

Example:
Someone puts in a bid of $30,000 for a car.
It goes to the reserve or higher than the previous bidder of $22,500
Another bidder puts in an amount of $10,000,000, the price of the car goes to $30,010.
The bidder than retracts the bid and places a bid of $29,990 and the original bidder now is up to his max bid.

Just contact ebay and they will remove it. I recently had a guy do it to me because I would not lie on the customs form and ebay removed the neg. There is nothing they can do about the star ratings but the will reverse the negs.

I just blocked the buyer, he wont be able to bid on another cue or anything else I sell !! I would love to get with a backer and set up an alternative site to ebay ! I would do it in a heartbeat !!

There is. This is something I ran across one night while searching for an item.

I think I was looking for a pair of brass knuckles and this place showed up.

My McAfee shot that one down quickly

What do you need brass knuckles for?
Those pool halls in Sasquachland must be tougher than I thought.
Unless you are planning on going a few rounds with the kid...

I even talked to someone at e-bay and they said they couldn't remove it. I haven't used e-bay since.

After a VERY FAST check, seems to be a China based company with most stuff shipping from the Chinese mainland. Most reviews I read were luke warm at best. Several people didn't get the items they ordered, if anything at all. A lot of sellers don't seem to communicate well in English according to those who contacted them to get different descriptions of the same item.
I'll pass.
