Floor rack vs wall

I was looking at a new cue rack for my house. I have a wall rack but was looking at a floor rack.
What opinions are out there? My fear is the floor rack holds the cue a couple of feet up the on the butt and will scuff or mar it.

On better quality floor racks the top holes should be covered with material
so the cue is not rubbing wood to wood with the rack.

If you get a floor rack without this you could always cut some cloth or felt strips and
apply them to the holes in the top of the rack with some adhesive.
Most folks prefer wall racks imo.

No contest. Not even any discussion... imo. Wall racks only. Out of harms way and don't take up much room. Wall racks also showcase the cues better... imo. (and I've got toooo much furniture/stuff/bookcases/tv stand/desk/another desk/5 tall pool chairs/tall table/couch/12feet of tables for cue work/gas stove/end table/storage for 40 or so cue cases.
I mean this joint is packed full!! No room for a floor rack... not one freakin square foot of empty floor space. :groucho:)

I have one of each. My floor rack gets used more because of it's location.

I went to a local fabric shop and bought a little black cloth and glued it to the inside of the rings and it works great.

I actually have two of those little rubber cue holders sitting around the room too and they are what I use the most.

Look into the wall racks that recess into the wall. Its a nice touch.

Couldn't give me a Floor Rack. Ditto what JimS & Sev said... good points.

i nailed a pair of these from e-bay a while back -

Craft stores sell felt with adhesive backing in 8 1/2"x11". Cut it to size, peel off the backing and stick to the cue cut-outs in the rack. Viola! Padded rack or cue holder.

I have a small hobby vise that clamps to a table. I put this self sticking felt on the jaws and use it as a cue holder. :groucho:

There are a lot of uses for this self sticking felt and also for the fuzzy side of self sticking velcro.

it also depends on where you have the space.
Im running out of wall space because of all the pool decorations and stuff so i might go with a floor holder later. Its only for cheap house cues anyways. U gotta take that into consideration too.
