How in the sam hell are these 2 leading the voting for the next IPT match? Talk about a seriously uneventful and anti-climactic match. It is going to be Sigel/Jones all over again, only this time we don't even get to see the return of a former #1 player after a 10 year hiatus.

Is central/eastern Europe just that much more interested that they are voting that much more then anywhere else? I mean Ouschan is a strong 3rd place atm. And after Reyes at a distant 4th noone else is even getting a wiff of being close.

I could think of a huge number of really interesting matches that could take place just in the top 20 listed on the website. How about that long talked about rematch between Sigel and Reyes, how about throwing Allison Fisher in there against Reyes much like has been discussed and debated to death on this forum, how about putting SVB against Chia Ching Wu to see a battle of the best young players from North America and Asia.

Instead they are going to do Foldes verse freaking Hofstadder? Wow, way to get the fans interested, clearly there is a hugely disproportianate number of votes comming from Austria/Hungary.

The IPT really could garner some interest again by putting on some hugely interesting matches that have been discussed like crazy and would really answer some questions, instead they are wasting their time with this one. What a wasted opportunity.
 
Yeah, I thought the same thing when I checked the results this morning after I got the e-mail that said Thorsten, SVB, Allison, Mike Davis, and Charlie Williams backed out. I've never heard of Foldes. He may be a good player, but come on guys! This will absolutely backfire on their orginal intent.

I agree wholeheartedly that G-force and Foldes will be a boring match - I don't think I'll even watch it in fact. I keep on voting for the Ronnie o'sullivan efren reyes match but apparently there's not enough demand for that.

The demand for a match like that would be huge. If they could get both of those players into a match, winner take all for $25,000 or something of the sort they could market the hell out of it and get HUGE PPV numbers and TV deals to show it as delayed programming. It is also a match that would have international appeal.

I cannot fathom the IPT not realizing the opportunities they are blowing to revitalize their brand and instead doing this kind of garbage. Want to sell more books? Put out a friggin match that will get 1,000,000+ people worldwide talking about it like Reyes/O'Sullivan, it's like rocket science!
 
The IPT has not made a smart decision by letting the most popularly voted two players match up, because results depend too much on who's too lazy to vote 20 times and who's diligent enough to spend 5 hours a day clicking on links online. It should have simply invited some of the most popular players to play pool like its previous matchups. If Foldes and G-force face off, I seriously will not watch it. Even a WPBA match with fisher and corr is much superior.

What I can't believe is that ChiChing Wu is not even listed as having ANY % of the votes so far! Come on, all the people living in that area of the world and none of them voted for Wu???

Vilmos Foldes is a very talented shooter and will probably be a serious contender for the WC for some time to come. Still, I think I would have rather seen him against somebody who will at least challenge him.

This is all rather curious. Could it be that somehow, somebody wants someone from Europe to boost the IPT there???? Do numbers / "votes" caste really lie?

what if someone you wanted to play was in first and the ITP decided not to get them ?

no i am not a ITP member , just looking at it from the other side

You are of course right........it could be a big marketing and customer service boob if IPT were to ignore the highest voted candidates.

In fact they're now between a rock and a hard place whatever they do.
 
guess it kinda backfired on em..(IPT) ha, got it right that time.

the only thing we can do is make sure everyone votes as mush as possible.
i have been voting for alex pag.
maybe we need to pick someone here on az and get the votes in
