Foot spot divot

How can I get rid of the divot on the foot spot? I've got a big divot in my cloth from breaking. I've tried replacing the spot but the divot is in the cloth so it comes right back. I guess I could move the spot a bit but then it wouldn't be in the right "spot" :D.

It seems to be making the second balls on my 10 ball break go low. If I use the magic rack and put the head ball right on the spot the second balls go low. If I put it above or below the spot they go higher. The balls are all froze in both instances.

Any ideas?

I'll bump this for any ideas ...

I've replaced the spot (like a month ago), tried to brush out the divot, the 860 cloth isn't even a year old ... should I have replaced the spot earlier? That was the only suggestion I got from a friend of mine. Basically, he said that I should replace the spot as soon as signs of wear show up, instead of letting the divot work it's way into the cloth. I guess I see his point now, but really? Replace the spot every 2 months or so?

I'm using Simonis 860 as well and when I am shooting solo (which is about 70% of the time) I am breaking from the spot. I too have developed a divot. I cut a spot to the shape of the divot and laid it down in the hole to build it up level. Then spot over the top if you choose to. I ended up leaving the spot off. It has mitigated the problem until I can recloth the table.

You can try to put some paper hole reinforcements on or even under the spot and that should help. These are also good to put down where you break from, it'll save you some table wear without having to use a break pad.

Listen to Joe, those paper hole reinforcements have many uses - I have a box of them in my case!

I've got the same divot too , it can be a pain in the but when racking but i just try to rub it out with my thumb or forefinger , I do alot of practice on my break so I know that it comes back from time to time .
