Here is a cue that my uncle has and he want to sell it but not sure of a price but anyway its a 1972 George Balabushka. The cue is in great condition for its age. It has 4 Points with 4 veneers, cortland wrap, stainless steel joint with ring work and 5/16 14 pin. both shafts are strait and both are 12.75mm. The cue is 57.5 inches together. the butt is derlin and is solid one peice that is held on by the weight bolt. There is a small chip out of the butt cap but not really that bad. the cue has not been played with for 35 years. the case is a old leather palmer case with key with locks. here are some pictures and please pm some price's if interested. Me and my uncle will deliver the cue to resonable distance also.

Hey I'll tell you something... that Bushka looks a heck of a lot like a Model 12 Palmer from the third catalog.

Add that to the Palmer butt cap and bumper from that era, and the one picture that appears to be an 18 pin and I think you'ld deliver it anywhere.

balabushka cue

My uncle called me today and found the bill of sales and it is a 1970 balabushka to be exact.

Very nice looking old cue, but:

-it has a 5/16x18 joint pin, not 5/16x14 as on Bushka

-no brown rubber bumper

-Palmer style butt cap and bumper

-wrong "nipples" on the shafts

-wrong weightbolt

-came in a nice Palmer case

-looks exactly like a Palmer Model 12

...even if your uncle has a receipt from 1970, it still appears that this cue is a Palmer Model 12....and a real nice, complete example of one, at that.

Szamboti Forearm?

When I first looked at the shafts, my first thought was not original shafts if it is a Balabushka. Other than the forearm my first impression was Palmer, but would not jump to conclusions without verification. I would guess the forearm to be Szamboti, and do not think in this timeframe Palmer used his blanks? I know a few years later Palmer did use some Gus blanks.

The third catalog cues are probably the most cues that would have Szamboti forearms. Yes, I believe his is.

JV (---Saw a beauty of a Boti Palmer forearm at the show.

Bushka?

points are to far apart to be a boti, at wrap is what i'm talking about. & i'm sure its not a bushka

Points

It is the space between the points at the wrap and the length of the points that indicate to me that it may be a Szamboti forearm.

awe.....

you poped his bubble Nick lol

At least let him down gently. Otherwise, he might need one of these:
