Hello,
my name is Jörg.
I am from Germany and am new to the forum. I have a Joss West that I am hoping to sell. We can escrow the transaction, if you want, and I will gladly pick up the cost.
I will accept Paypal for payment as well.
Here are some photos of the cue:

Since the cue has been in my possession, I have had it refinished once. The work was done by Vollmer Cues.
The cue has some light players' scratches, but you will be hard-pressed to find them.
Additional photos are available upon request.
The cue weighs 20 ounces. The shafts are 13 mm and the ferrules are ivory.
Contact me if you have more questions.
I am hoping to get $1,700 or 1,200 Euros for the cue, which I believe is a fair asking price.

Best regards
Jörg

Study The Cue Market

Before determining your price for this Joss West cue, you should watch the cue market. This very same cue design ahs had at least 3-4 listings on A-Z recently and e-Bay as well. Only 1 of the 4 listings got bids and the seller should do okay but the other 3 were flops. The amnount you looking to get seems high for this cue market but stranger things have happened I suppose. I think you're probably Svereal hundred h=too high in the US dollar figure but best of luck with selling this cue. I just got one that looks exactly like yours (with 2 ivory shafts), in stunning condition and I paid $1400. The readers on the forum are very helpful and let's see what type of advice you get....Matt

Hello Matt,
strange thinks can happen ;)
Have you ever tried to offer a thing to a low price and rising up the price when you have more people who want to buy this thing? :)

I think you are a lucky man if you got you cue in perfect condition for this price.

Maybe, we will see what happens.....

I forgot to write: The two shafts are with ivory too. Please excuse my for this missing information.

Best regards
Jörg

I Was Fortunate

I dealt with Jim Murphy who was the seller of the cue, not the actual owner. The cue had just recently been refinished by Ariel Carmeli, who seems to be a very reputable cuemaker and his work is becoming more highly regarded nowadays. Both my shafts also had ivory ferrules and the original starting price for my cue was higher than what we settled upon because the seller was eager to move the cue right away. The cue offers weren't there at the seller's original higher price and I must have just timed it right. But from what I've seen, cues in general aren't selling quickly, unless the cue is a scarce and offerred at a good price. In general, cues that sell tend to be offerred at a great price (For the Buyer)as opposed to a good price (For the Seller)....it's definitely been a Buyers market the past couple of years and this is the softest I've seen the cue market in awhile....Let's see what the others in the Forum have to say about it.....Matt

While I agree with both your posts the forum rules do not allow to question the pricing of an item. I actual sent a pm to the seller to discuss it with him. Because he is new it may take him a while to understand how the market is currently.

GLWS though!

Yes, don't bust anyone's chops about his cue price. Everyone needs to start somewhere...you never know what the seller will take through a PM offer.

Also, every cue is different and appeals to folks differently...maybe veneer colors, woods, etc. You never know when this cue might be just what someone was looking for.

To the OP, very nice cue that you are offering. I wish you the best of luck in your sale.

Hallo,
i changed the text on the top.
I hope it is better to understand for you.
A very friendly member of the forum wrote it for me new.
Thanks a lot for it :)

Also thank you for you good wishes.

The price discussion is normal but it is not so nice to write it in the thread.
There are two things:
First i must post a price for the item.
Second if there is someone interested on the item, we can talk over the price in PM.
Thats than no problem for me.
The 1700$ are a starting point for the discussion over the price not more.
A fair offer is welcome anytime!

Best Regards
Jörg

Thanks for bumping.

I have shot a new photo with manual white balance for real colors of the veneers.
It is the last Photo in the album.
The link to the album is on the first replay.

I hope it is helpful.
