In case you aren't aware...I'd highly recommend not going with the 3" version of the 1911. While there are some out there that work...sometimes...its not what you want to risk your life with. The 1911 platform is all about timing. The pistol was designed to run with a 5" barrel...when using the 3" then it screws with the timing and makes it much less than dependable. The 3" 1911's look very trick and believe me...I've spent too much trying to get one to run flawless. Those in the know...don't carry the 3". The 4" commander is a better option but for me...I'd rather defend my life or those of loved ones with the 5" version the way Mr. Browning designed it. If you feel you must have a 3" barreled .45 then I'd suggest the Glock 30 (double stack) or the 36 (single stack). While not a 1911...the Glock is designed to run 100% reliable with the shorter barrels. Sorry for the rant. Just trying to possibly save you some headache.

I hope other AZers don't start using all those special characters to get their ads noticed. It would look like hell.

The Commander has a 4.25" barrel, not a 4" barrel.

FYI- The Kimber Ultra Carry II has been one of the best shooting .45's I've ever owned. I believe if you spend for quality, then a 3" barrel on a 1911 is just fine.
