for the love of action

As most people know I love action, whether it be gambling on a sporting event, playing backgammon, making a proposition on just about anything, betting on a pool player,or playing myself. Naturally,I would preferr to play myself, but for some reason players are reluctant to come to Dallas to play me.In the last 2 years i've played quite a few large $$ sets with differen't players.Needless to say i'm losing more than i'm winning, unlike years ago when I won about 80% of the time ,ask Jay.So once again i'm going to challenge some players to come to dallas to play me,not because i'm a gunslinger and want to establish a rep,or be recognized as one of the best.I've already been through all that and my time has passed. Just trying to keep it real. I have come to a point in my life where I feel bored with everything and want to play some pool. I really could't say how much longer I will feel this way,all I can say is this is the way I feel now.Incidentally Frost just called me up and wants me to come to Mesa Az. to play one pocket 11/7 & 10/6,in a room his friend just opened.
Chris Bartrum is making a name for himself, just recently beating 2 very solid players.David G down here in Dallas, for one. And I was surprised he didn't ask me to play after winning, and playing as well as he did. ????
I'll play anyone one my age even one pocket, including Buddy Hall. And I honestly don't feel that i'm the favorite playing Buddy, but I will still play, for reasons that were previously stated. I will play Bartrum even as well, and I really will be surprised if someone doesn't put him in. I have games with Chohan,Frost,Lil John,Jesse Bowman,Ike Rennels, and iv'e lost to every one of them. So for the love of action COME ON DOWN.

Whats the name of the new room in Mesa, AZ?

Yeah, in 1963. Where were you?

I was in Fairbanks Alaska playing for $5, $10, and $20 a game 8-ball in one of the 30+ bars in two blocks. Talk about action...it was like the wild, wild west. Everyone had money. Almost everyone had a gun in a holster or a loaded rifle leaning against a wall next to them. It took a set of balls to hustle in Alaska back then. Johnnyt

That is a very interesting site and sad story. I used to have a German Shepherd (best dog I have ever had) and I was walking through Petsmart one day and a lady gave me a documentary called "War Dogs". I had no idea about this. I watched the tape and cried like a baby. These dogs were amazing just like most dogs out there. It was horrible the way they treated them like equipment and wouldn't let them come home with the soldiers whose lives they saved.

Billy, you *do* know that most of us here, especially when it comes to players of your experience, speed, and reputation, are basically one step removed from "chopped liver" (as in, "What am I? Chopped liver?!" "Well, yes."

What about something for the chopped liver crew? Maybe something along the lines of: Any player that hasn't finished top 20 in a major event, been on an Accu-Stats tape, or been mentioned in an article in BD, gets __-__, if they come to Dallas and bet $____ (keep in mind you're speaking to the "Chopped liver Crew.)

I know that's too wide open, but it's just a starting point. In any case, I think you need to keep aware of who your audience is here and woof appropriately :-)

Fig,
My proposal applies to anyone my age, crews don't mean much to me after a certain age. Have you ever heard of a late bloomer? Fuhermore certain players from the chopped liver crew (upper half) after they reach 60 play better than some legendary players the same age.I wish I could make an exception ,but it's hard to do that unless you know specifically the quality of the chopped liver.

Billy,
I'd love to play you some Backgammon. I think I could make a game of it. However, I think you got waaaaaaaaay more gamble than me! I'd probably be seeing the cube so much I'd get dizzy;)

Small world sorta. I was in Anchorage that year. Won enough money for my first car, a 1953 Mercury h/t with glass packs. Those were fun in Alaska. Played on base in the barracks and saved the bars for other things. And not klootches, thank u very much.

When you can barely hold your cue, sitting in a wheelchair, shaking all the time and can't see longer then the cueball, then I will play you. (But I will need 10 - 6, I think)

Great post, hope someone goes to Dallas for some real action!

Hell, then all he'll do is shoot between shakes. Got to watch these older fellows.

I'm sorry about your back problems,I can relate to that.I,m not trying to be insensitive ,but i'm mainly concerned about your wallet problems. LOL

i appericate your conccern about my back it got damaged because my bank roll is too heavy and carring it all these years has created my back problem;) , so beat me out of some of it and lighten my load a little, thanks fatboy,,The Fat part of my name is describing my bank roll not a weight problem. :)
