Forgive my blondeness but WHO is David Matlock?

I know Bobby, but there was another guy, pretty rich who used want to bet outrageous money on Dave too. Wasn't his name Duggan or something like that? Long time ago!

Bill Duggan, originally from Enid (once was Mayor there)...... very well known in the Midwest. Lived in Ponca City and now is in Tulsa. Once had a player thrown in jail for not gambling high enough!

I'm quite sure that Bill is extremely happy for Dave and keeping a close eye on the results.

You have a good point, because I know for a fact that Jesse Bowman, who is supposedly the best bar box player in the world right now, is not considered a top player on a 9 foot table. Dave Matlock is a top player on both. With Dave being in stroke right now, and playing Jesse for a large sum on a barbox, I think Dave would be the favorite (even though barbox 9-ball is nothing more than a break contest).

Lets not forget who the REAL king of the 7 footer of all time (with the big rock) is, and that would be none other than Keith McCready.

I have never heard that Keith was better than David with the big rock. Maybe Keith or JAM can enlighten us as to whether they ever matched up and how it came out. Jay?

To show some honesty on David's game, I saw Reed Pierce beat him here, in St Louis, on a big table. But to David's defense, he had just switched to a new cue that he obviously wasn't happy with & never saw someone miscue that many times in my life. He actually switched to 2 or 3 other cues during the match but could never seem to find one to his liking.

Was it played in checkers? Reed was unbeatable those years.one time,I heard,Reed beat danny Harriman in Checkers.
Do u know Reed is operating a pool room out side Jackson , MS.His brother is the owner and the place opened only few weeks ago.

ive played dave 3 times. once at breakers in kansas city for the winners side. he won the first 4 i cam back with 4, played a safe and he kicked it in and put the set on me. another time to get to 5th/6th on the winner's side in olathe, ks. he broke dry the first game and i put six on him. then broke up 6-0 made the nine and whitey got kicked in the side. next time i shot i was down 8-6 hooked. couldnt get mad either time because i like the man entirely too much

There is no pool room in St Louis called Checkers. And there has not been one called that in the 20 years I have been around. Reed beat David @Chesterfield Billiards. It was a match that was set up prior & they wanted a neutral place to play.
