I don't know if I measured it wrong but as far as I can tell my cues balance point is 22in from the butt.Do any of you know any good cue makers that go that far forward? I love way my cue is balanced but I hate steel joints and would like to change to a SW style joint.
Thanks in advance for any help. :D

;)obviously forward...and its doable, if you want to change the joint into SW style without changing the balance point...but as i imagine how to do it, it is a big job.

My cue was made by a Filipino cue maker but now he has people working with him and all the cues he sent my buddy after that were more butt heavy and hit different still good cues but not what I'm looking for.

Forward Balance

Hi, I build cues with a bolt weight epoxied with in the forearm behind the joint pin. Depending on the weight bolt, I change the fulcrum to about 4 inches forward of the A-Joint. With the moment arm of the weight bolt near the front of the cue, if the owner wants to put a weight bolt in the rear of the cue, he will still have a forward balanced cue. I truly believe that balance is far more important than the actual gross weight of the cue itself. Most people come to me and say I want an 19.5 or 18.5 or some other request. I always tell them that they are locked into that weight because they had a cue of that weight before. Since each cue has a different balance point you must play with it before you make a judgment call. I have seen guy say they want a 20 oz. cue and end up buying a 18.5 because of the forward weight effect. Rick G
