Found a little unexpected gem last night.

Just a wild guess here, but I’m thinking whatever it is, it’s named after the famous mixed martial arts fighter, Kembo Slice.

There’s a fast food truck called Kembo on the west coast....
...but the name didn’t seem to refer to any particular food item.

Never saw them even though I love food trucks. Cousin's Maine and Baby's bad ass burgers (honorable mention to Monster Burger: Meat is murder; tasty tasty murder.) are prob my favorite.

They used to come in the plants down here. Anything hot in cold weather was wonderful. We could start a thread for all the names for the food trucks. Roach Coaches, Ptomaine trucks, rat wagons, we must have had a dozen names for those trucks, none good! I still ate off of one most cold days on some jobs.

What is 'Kembo'?

The Kembo was a mesquite grilled chicken breast smothered with ham and Swiss cheese with a spicy mayo topping. $7.00

One funny encounter was...I asked the fellow about the chicken wings and he said "well, they come in pre-breaded and frozen so...there's that...did you want to go with something fresh"?

The crazy thing is...about 300 ft from this restaurant is a yacht named "Endeavour" that rents for $120K a week. The guests can exit the vessel and walk a couple minutes for a $2.00 burger. lol

I don't know if anyone plays for any money in this room but if you're ever in the area and want a really good burger and shoot some cheap pool on some tables that probably have a ton of history, give it a shot....I'll be back

Hahaha, yeah I mean here we have a full on gourmet food truck revolution going. Its like mini specialty restaurants. Dude, you gotta try a Cousin's Maine Lobster roll.

Hiya Doc! Hope things are well in your neck of the woods! You still have the guys over on Tuesdays? (Thursdays?) I'll make it over there one of these days!

I know where I'm headed the next time my wife visits the in-laws:thumbup:

Love the Royal James. We live right up the road in New Bern

Beaufort, NC (Not to be confused with Beaufort, SC. Spelled the same but pronounced differently) is a really beautiful little village. You can’t get there by accident, especially now that the new bridge routes traffic away from the town. I know where the Royal James is but have never been in there. I’ll have to check it out the next time I go to Beaufort (on purpose.)
