Four Piece Slate...

Rob....read my sentence again...and again, then take a look at what you posted a picture of. Is that not wood in the side pocket? Are them corners of the slate not cut off and the wood is used to create the pocket profile?...what did you get me on....besides NOT understanding the ENGLISH I typed out?

Excuse me....

Do either one of you know how to get to the Hwy. I've seemed to find my way into a big pile of sh_t...See normally I don't come this side of town, and when I do I normally see some really nice things, but it seems that I've suddenly gotten to a place right in front of the fan....and well while the breeze is nice...the stench isn't so much.:(

Nice post Wes. I am sure to have stooped to even have gotten into this conversation.

I never said I was a tough guy, cause I am not. The fact that you are now going there is because you have run out of other options where as I have not. This is not how business is done, and why I really don't care what you do in retribution. You have some big street cred because your work is top shelf, but do you think you will ever be wearing a suit while you tell other what you want? The idea of having you in charge of my actions if I were to agree to be a franchise is horrific. I would rather start a fan club Robert Madoff. If I make friends here that is great, but it is not why I came. I thought you were going to kick me off, isn't that what you text said yesterday?

JE Came made tables with 4 piece slates in the late 19 th century. The Connelly Ultimate had 4 pieces (2 inch thick) slate. The Chevellotte billiard tables are 4 piece slate. They are out there.

Jay

The hall I play at in NJ has one of these, Made in France, I believe?

I have seen plenty of antique Brunswicks with 4 piece slate. The last one I worked on was an Improved Union League model circa 1890's I believe. Not many out there though.

I have had enough of the bickereing.

It will stop one way or another.

Glen, Turk, just because he is on vacation doesn't mean you two haven't contributed to the pile.

I agree with you, I have refrained from any further involvement since last week. My post on "the ultimate gold crown" was simply a post, not an attempt to start another argument.I have no intent to pursue this any further. I posted pictures of Robs work. I admit the statements that accompanied the pics were provocative and irresponsible. This forum is not the place to air dirty laundry, nor is it a forum to misrepresent yourself or anyone else. Most everyone here strives to improve. This forum, along with networking and camaraderie have helped a lot of mechanics, myself included. I apologize for the misuse of the forum and my poor judgement. Bob De Turk ... A Level Above Pool Tables

He's on vacation?...That explains why he hasn't been chasing me around in every thread I post in, and I thought he'd just quit on his own;)....
ok...ok, I'll quit:rotflmao1:

You are doing a great job Mr. Wilson as I know I can be a pain in the ass at times, but somebody has to keep me in check once in a while...or some on here might start thinking I'm the "GOD" of mechanics:D:D
