Friday Open Thread: 32 Men Left Standing

I like Shane for this one...he survived a nail biter and I think he's ready to make Open history.
But if Hennessee wins I'll be delighted....I like that guy.
Always had friends like that growing up....and watching their backs. :duck:

I can't watch the match with Earl because I'm working, but I'm sweating the live table brackets. I wish somebody could provide updates.

Yeah, this Qatari is a total unknown quantity, though he looked good in rack one.

It sounds like the commentators are hiding in a bunker somewhere. Why don't they have the table mic'd? I like hearing the break and the sounds of the game. Without it the feeling is almost artificial IMO.

Majid shooting a .972 Accu-stats match so far and leads 6-1. Surely, he can't sustain this level, but he seems quite a player.

Wow! .972 on Accu-Stats is strong, sjm! Wow! The scuttlebut was that he was going to smoke Earl. I'm a believer now.
 
Commentators are doing what they can to give Majid less than his due here, suggesting he's done almost nothing to get his lead. In rack one, he ran out off a tough cut on the two and he's had two break and run racks. That's doing a little more than nothing.

Nice rack by Earl off Majid dry break to pull within 6-2.
