I ordered a picone press, just for this reason!!!
I will certainly post my results :)
 
I haven't had a chance to test any from the last batch yet, but the tips that I received looked good for the price, so I just sent payment for another 10 of them. 4 hard, 3 medium, and 3 soft .

i pressed an ultraskin hard in a picone press and it came out pretty good actually. I was trying to make it into a very hard break tip. it actually didn't come out hard enough as i like for breaking, but as a playing tip it was good. maybe just needs to be a touch softer, probably pressed it a little too much. it's hard to get a consistent press, at least with my hand cranked vise.

I haven't test hit with one yet, but I installed a hard tip on a shaft last night for someone to beta test It. I usually recommend that people use 2 different cues, but He wanted It for both breaking & play, and the tip didn't seem quite as hard as what I usually install for him, so I pressed the tip, and that seemed to harden up It a little more. One thing I can say at this point is that trimming the side was very smooth, easy to shape the radius as well.
 
I received my tips today. Haven't put one on yet but if they play as good as they look I'll be happy. I have next week off work so I'll put it to the test then.
 
hey tom, got the tips today(thursday)great service.put 2 tips on and they are very nice. I'm still waiting for the very hard tips.keep up the good work....rick.
 
Tips are great as per normal.
The only feedback I have gotten,
My customers are saying that the hardness ratings may be underrated a bit.
My own experience seems to agree.
Great product, great price, great guy to deal with!
 
CueJo, I understand exactly what you are saying. My Catch 22 is on my range of tips, which is 3, one is softest and one is hardest. I am open for suggestions.

Just put a hard on for a great local player.

my order is still on the way (tired of checking my mailbox, lol), could you give your impression so far, like compare to Moori/Kamui? My rating from soft to hard would be
K-ss, M-s, K-s, M-m, K-m, M-q, K-h. Where would you put UltraSkin s-m-h?
 
Is there a faster affordable means to send to Russia? I am sorry for such a delay.

HI Tom,

My wife is from Bulgaria, just south of Russia. It can take 3 months to send something through the mail to there. And then, at those countries, workers may open the package and see if its something they want. They just blame it on customs. Not every place is like the good ole US. My experience would lead me to believe that if you wanted to sell there, find one distributor and ship FedEx. That way you could ship quantities that would not be such a hit on you. Of course, I imagine that the price would still be much higher there by the time the shipping is factored in.
