Frkn FedEx

Fedex ground is the worst. They pay crap compared to UPS and no driver is ever happy looking. Ordered some ammo a few weeks ago and when it never showed up I tracked it to find it was sent back to Texas. Driver couldn't find my address in three days of trying with it on his truck even though I have lived here 20 years and the address is marked on the building and the mailbox. Newbie from out of state.

So the outfit I bought it from who chose to send it fedex ground charged me a 15% "restocking fee" claiming to Gunbroker.com that I had returned it. Never had it to return but now I'm out $150. They hired Fedex to save a buck not me, I didn't choose them so they should make me whole and take it up with them. Will see what happens I complained to Gunbroker.com.

On the other hand UPS workers have stolen ammunition from me before. Had 1000 rounds of .357 mag shipped with 5k rounds of .22 LR, The box was open the the centerfire gone but in the box with the rimfire was a small package addressed to someone else that I was able to track and determine where the two packages converged.

Does anyone use PirateShip? They claim you can save money on shipping via UPS or USPS. I just mailed a cue in a triangle box via USPS Priority Mail (not through PirateShip), and it cost $85 with insurance--insurance was $44. I packed the cue inside one of those super strong cardboard tubes, then slid the tube inside a Priority Mail triangle box. The packed triangle box weighed 4.6 lbs.

The interesting thing about PirateShip is that they use a third party insurer called Shipsurance. I think that means when you print your USPS shipping label through PirateShip, USPS will not see that the package is insured. If that's the case, then USPS workers cannot readily identify your package as valuable and target it for theft. I know some people ship cues without insurance to prevent workers from knowing how valuable the package is.

When I got home from USPS, I plugged in the weight and dimensions of my package at PirateShip, and printing a USPS label through PirateShip for my Priority Mail triangle box would have cost $63.71. UPS 2nd Day Air would have been $75.50. I don't have a printer to print shipping labels, but there's an OfficeMax near me, and I could load the printing label on a flash drive, then drive to OfficeMax and print the label.
I use pirate ship exclusively for my cues and my auto business. They are the real deal and have saved me a ton of money over the UPS and USPS sites and like you say with third party insurance it's not visible to the rank and file the value.

But......Haven't filed a claim as of yet. Be interested to know if the insurer is also legit.

I love the software of pirateship it's intuitive and thorough.

Many are privateer contractors, though bound under FedEx contract they most certainly would never be hired to work for fedex themselves. Some super shady dudes show up at my house once in awhile in shitty unmarked vehicles
To add to my fed-ex unmarked vehicles post, I had a UPS guy show up in his personal car yesterday, Honda Accord at that. Maybe a truck broke down on the last few packages I don't know but it sure seems like a bad ideal to have any unmarked vehicle driving up to people's houses and walking up on their porches

I had two new IPhones delivered the other day. Was informed by the cell carrier they would be signature required. I was home when my mailman pulls up. He hands them to me after scanning them and drives off. No signature required. Apparently the shippers could care less about any protocol at all. It is a total shit show with every single shipper for us except Amazon. But we expect they will follow suit soon….

Part time, temporary, holiday delivery drivers.

All delivery services use them.

FedEx doesn't even deliver here, they just hand it off to Canada Post if your outside the city. UPS hands off to a subcontractor.

Maybe but first time for me. Had I been coming home to find a little car in my driveway parked behind my house with no markings I may have parked on his hood til I figured out what was going on LoL. We don't have much theft in the area but during the daylight hours is when they hit

Sometimes those temp drivers are good honest people who just can't catch an opportunity.
It's Definately the case with some that UPS uses here. With the exception of two old school drivers in my area that work for UPS, the new guys (kids) could care less if packages get delivered.
The temps I've seen, get it done!
Fed x around here. They just suck!

The good temps are motivated by the hope of full time employment and are good honest hardworking folks just trying to get ahead. Been there myself. The others are lazy clowns that do not want to work full time nor are they motivated by their own desire to make anything of themselves. Screw them!
