I have a thing for jump cues and cases. I study them endlessly. I bought my very first jump cue from you in Vegas, a frog (right after you got rid of the brass ferrule). I practiced with it, and the first time I used it in competition, which was a money game, I made 6 out of 7 jump shots, and got a good hit on the one I didn't make. I was ecstatic, because I am only 5'7" tall and always had a bit of a problem with jump shots.
It had a right feel to it, but the problem was anything 5-6" or closer, and I could not either get over the ball or would not make the shot. Now, I use a stroke shot, not the dart when I jump. I have only used the dart a couple of times.
I've had a couple more jump sticks since then, one a real light one, but no accuracy with it. I now use a J&J break/jump cue with the phenolic ferrule/tip, and it does pretty good, but accuracy can be a problem sometimes.
I ordered an X-Jumper for a friend, when they were being made, and I tried it out before giving it to my friend. It was, without a doubt, the best jump cue I have ever laid my hands on (and yes, I have tried the Jacoby jump cue). The tip, made with liquid leather and a patent pending on it, was the best jump tip I have ever come across in 49 years of playing. The tip was as hard or harder than phenolic tips. It can jump close with better accuracy than any other jump cue I have tried. (I have probably tried about a dozen other jump cues, and yes the Predator Air too).
It had amazing control to it, and I have first dibs if my friend ever sells it.
Since Richard is no longer in the business, if you could get rights to the ferrule/tip combination he had for the X-Jumper, you would make a mint, IMO.
