On second thought, Mark

Your response to my poste, where I mentioned Allison, though sharply put, was a question, nevertheless. Reacting as though it was an acusation, I answered with sarcasm and contrived snobbery. I've put on my big boy pants now and I would like to take my apology from "just words". If you would please PM me your address, I would like to send you a copy of my book, with my compliments. I'm only in this for fun.
Sincerely, Alf Taylor

We got it Alf! And for those of us who know Allie that's just how she says it.

Can't wait for the book. Will there be any at the Super Billiards Expo and if so can I pay for a copy now?

Thank you J.B. Case person

I was forewarned that, if I delved in the posting world, I would have to face some irritation or negativity, no matter how straight I played it. This is the first time someone took me wrong and, I'm a big boy, but it still bugged me like crazy to straighten it out. Your nice note made me feel great this AM. Thank you.
I''ll contact you when the books arrive.
Keep it nice. Alfie

Alf, I think you took it the wrong way but then again what I meant to say didn't really come out right. Just not understanding as to why Allison was mentioned at all.

Thanks you for your offer on the book and I will probably buy one in the near future so if you really want to give the book away please give a copy to one of the AZB members on here that are struggling right now when you come across one. Thanks

You're good fellow, Mark

for passing my offer on to someone who could better use it. It is your book, so will let you know where it lands. I am going to investigate how I can remove the poste, if possible. I'm new at this so I don't know if it's possible. Then it will be a non-issue.

Keep it nice. Alfie

Why did the chicken cross to.....
:clapping: THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD :clapping:

I'm a 'bricks and mortar' person...
..is your book available in book stores?
I also have a friend going to SBE...will she be able to pick up a copy?

regards

Am I missing something here? I have no idea how Allison is involved in this, there must be some inside thing going on here. If so it would be great to know, unless the book is about Allison. Otherwise it would seem like dropping her name is only serving as a bait and switch to sell your book. Please don't take this the wrong way I an just interested as this is a little confusing.

I read the original post and it came across as Alf giving praise and thanks to Allison for her support and encouragement in his endeavor with his book. Maybe I am wrong but I didn't see anything offensive or out of line. Granted dropping her name does help a bit but I am fine with that.

Good luck with your book

Alfie was the real deal, a great undercover pool player who was definitely NOT a nit! He was never afraid to bet it up if he had a live one. In our era there were quite a few successful road players who never showed their face around a tournament. Bobby "Cotton" LeBlanc and Alfie Taylor are only two of them. Weldon Rogers, Peter Gunn and Bakersfield Bobby are three others that come to mind. Jack Cooney was numero uno though! I barely knew Alfie but he was a class act, very smooth. He could beat you and make you like it. Now that's an art! :D

P.S. I was there when you beat Stuey "The Hat" out of some serious cash. I think you sent him into retirement for a long, long time.
Keeping it real!

Don't let it get to you, Alfie. People get misunderstood all the time on the forums, it's just part of the package. Let it roll off. I'm looking forward to the book.

Wow guy's. It is about confidence

How totally cool to wake up and find such nice words from you posting friends... plus, a couple of book orders. Sorry I made a mess trying to edit out my poste. Jay Helfort's words are pool's "Good Houskeeping" seal of approval. Thanks buddy. You're too kind.

Gotta say thank you, Bill Porter for turning me on to azbiliards, (an ex pool hustler's highway to the past.) The gas milage is great, nobody wants to bust my pumpkin for taking their paycheck and I get to sleep with my wife. every night. Yea buddy!
Again, thank you all.
Keep it nice. Alfie.
