From Grady Mathews

Pro Player
Last year, it was a thrill and an honor to receive an invitation to the World Straight Pool Championship.
I respectfully decline further invites because a. My play just doesn't merit that and b. Some talented young player should receive that invitation.
I do thank the UPA for letting me play in a great tournament and I wish them every success in the future.

I further apologize to anyone I may have offended by my remarks concerning my recent trip to Phoenix.
I didn't like the way I was treated but that's not the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I'm going to man up, take the loss and start over again.
That's all I have to say,
Grady "The Professor" Mathews

Grady looking forward to your visit to KC , for your pool clinic, I already signed up.

H,P,

The professor

Always nice to hear from you ,my old friend.

Can you stiil do the NYTimes crossword...
...in 30 seconds after it hits the street?

Grady, I have always LOVED the way you bring an original flair and thought to commenting a pool match! Anyone can call shots, but to be able to bring stories, a well thought out comment, and a historical aspect to the table......you should be the first pick for ANY streaming pool match IMO.

Many younger players dont understand your passion and experience behind the commentary you do.....I wish I could sit next to you and call a great match and learn from the years of experience you have.

I just wish weenie beenie was still around to bounce your quips off of!

thanx man!

Living in Colorado almost 30 years I had the chance to see you play some mighty impressive poo. those are great memories.
However every time I see your name somewhere I always think back on the night you rode the motorcycle from the Springs to Denver in that 0 degree temperature to play Jack Cooney.
my initial thought was, "that has to be either the toughest SOB I have ever seen or the craziest"!
I watched you play until 5 AM and then play ping pong until 9 AM. i also watched you win at both.
Keep scratching and clawing, dammit it is just your personality!!
