I am not using my money to invest in buying a pool cue and

sell it to you for a lose. This cue is worth a minimum of, $150.00 plus $12.00 shipping so that is what I am going to sell it for,

$162.00 shipped, if you want to find another one for $50.00, good luck.

Mike

I don't see a hoppe ring on this cue, I see a brown phenolic buttcap

Just my two cents...

I would not even post anything about this cue if it was not for the statement made at the being of the ad. "FOUND AT AN ESTATE SALE" http://www.ebay.com/itm/THOMPSON-Sn...53?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cbd07efe9=

Could have put "Newly acquired cue in perfect shape or This cue is in perfect shape that I just acquired." But nope, it had to be found at an estate sale.

Maybe I am getting to cared away over a just words. Who cares about what people say or write. I am sorry to anyone that I have offended. Good luck on your sale Mike.

All -

It doesnt matter what he paid for it. Make an offer or dont, but you all sound like jealous little kids.

AZ is so full of nits.

Maybe the seller on ebay found it in an estate sale?

Jemerson, you hit the nail on the head!!!

I had a couple of e-mails between the buyer that I asked him questions about the cue and it was stated that the cue came from an estate sale, I have no reason to add this unless it was true. It adds no value to the cue whatsoever. And, as many of the AZERs' know, I have been selling a lot of my collection to pay for my medications for an infection that resulted in me loosing my right hip. I believe that everyone that has ever dealt with me has found me to be an honest and upstanding AZER in my business dealings. I have bought and sold some items that I felt that were very good deals, because of the fact that I have very little money to spend on billiard items, but if I know I can turn the item quickly and double my money, I will, because the medications that I have to pay for and my insurance doesnt cover runs me, $2,900. And, as everyone knows, the economy is very tough right now and I have spent all my cash savings to deal with this medical problem, so I am now having to do this side business to cover my expenses.

Anyway, enough said, and everyone that posted listings in my defense I appreciate it, it amazes me what people have time to knit pick about, especially when they make statements that they dont know anything about. I dont want to seem sour, but sometimes it is difficult to deal with what I am dealing with and then have people attack you personally, for no reason.

Thats it, I have said my piece, and with that I am going back to sleep. I do have a few items i am trying to sell and if anyone is interested, let me know, I am more than willing to work with anyone that likes anything I have, I have given items to new players that didnt have much money and I have put package deals together to help people out that didnt have much money and were going through tough times. I enjoy selling items to billiard and pool players that like what they are getting and not just focused on the price they are paying, dont get me wrong, money is money, but as many of you know, I love this sport and have even traded items of mine to get educational materials to continue to exercise my mind in the field of pool and billiards because I will probably never play pool again or if i do it will never be like i did in the past.

Good luck to everyone and God bless all and I wish everyone the Best of Health and Happiness and make sure you realize what you have everyday and be thankful for what you have, not what you dont!!!

Maybe I was wrong about stating the ring as a Hoppe style?!?!

I was of the opinion that the ring at the bottom of the butt section, regardless if it was, ivory, buckhorn, delrin or MOP, this is considered a Hoppe Ring, due to the style of the old Brunswick cues that Hoppe had this ring in the butt added to and it caught on that is was a 'hoppe ring'
If I am wrong, someone let me know.
Otherwise, I think everyone knows what I mean.

Today a "Hoppe" ring is considered to be a small white band above a short buttcap. If the cue in your picture had a 1/4" white band above the brown buttcap then you could call it a Hoppe ring. Otherwise its just a brown buttcap.;)
