I am not fond of flame wars, especially in my sale thread, so here is a new one.
BTW, the buyer of this cue can send it to Kevin Varney for a new, FREE everest tip, per Mr. Varney...Thanks, Kevin...rep to you for that.
Here is the "twin" to the jump-break cue that I sold earlier. These had been kept together until now, but I figured more people would have a need for one of them more than for both, and it will allow more people to try out a Varney cue, which are very hard to come across right now.
As most of you know, Kevin Varney makes a great playing cue. You also know that he is very much behind in his production, primarily due to the fact that he will not rush the production of a cue. That personal attention to each and every cue is one of the main reasons that his cues are so sought out....of course, the playability probably has even more to do with it.
Here is a Varney goncola alves and straight grain maple "not so sneaky" pete. I have looked and run my hands all over it, and I can not find a ding or flaw anywhere. It also has a very nice curly maple shaft which is an awesome playing shaft. I waited to post it until after I had an opportunity to hit some balls with the cue. If you want a very, very solid playing cue, this is it.
Specifications:
- Butt: 14.8 ounces
- Shaft: curly maple, 3.9 ounces, 12.7mm, LBM ferrule..not sure of tip..maybe triangle
- Joint: Brass radial pin with a wood to wood joint
- Natural linen collars
- Straight grain maple forearm
- Some very nicely grained goncola alves makes up the points and body of the cue
- Finish: Kevin's hand rubbed finish...very smooth with a great feel to it
- Ebony and holly dash ring right above the butt cap
- Natural linen butt cap
SOLD!! Thanks!
Joe
