Dear Wedge,
I am Ralf Souquet, the son of Wolfgang Souquet, whose cue you have
traded recently. The story to this cue is quite funny but I try to
startfrom the beginning.
The first Wolfgang Souquet cue in the US went to a guy that works for
Cue and Case in Florida. The cue was brought into the US from a friend
of our family that traded the cue for 2 Lucasi cues while visiting his
friend in Florida. The Cue and Case guy showed the cue around and some
other local guy named Dan or Daniel asked for a cue with his name on it.
For some reason when the cue was ready for delivery the guy didn't
want the cue anymore or maybe was a little short in money. Therefore
the dealnever happened. I brought the cue with me to a tournament because my friend Marty Herman was interested in it when we chatted on the net. When he saw the cue he wanted to buy it. He had some cues that he wanted to trade and therefore we made a deal. I also told him that my dad is making a cue for Dan Janes and I guess this was the point when everything got started afterwards. I think Marty recalled that this
cue was supposed to be for Dan Janes and sold it to somebody that
asked me afterwards for authenticity of the cue. Anyways, it is an
original Wolfgang Souquet cue and my dad has probably made around 70
to 80 cues by now. He turned 70 years a week ago and I don't know how
long he will be making cues. It is definitely a keeper for your collection.
The cue for Dan Janes was handed to Dan personally by me about 3
months after I traded the Wolfgang Souquet cue that you own right now.
I hope that I could straighten out some things and wish you all the
best with your new cue.
Best wishes,
Ralf Souquet
