Full 16 Ball-Tray Slam

What was surprising Philly.
The TD was still there as was his staff.
NO one said a thing!
They have nice Diamond 7' in this room, and this action took place right in the main room by the bar 20 feet from the TD's desk?
Wasn't even considering a bar.
My bad.
Yup, bar table play is often different from poolroom play.
I now play out of a room (not a bar) that has nine 9 footers mostly Diamonds and six 7 footers, all Diamonds.
BYOB.
The 7 foot Diamonds are full of TAP and APA players every night and it can get loud
and crowded but the equipment must be respected.
The owner is a serious player.
I am sure some places just don't care.

But these kids get all Jacked up with the noise and the pounding sound of 16 balls hitting the slate at all at once.
They thought it was Cool, and their group enjoyed it too. WTF?
Makes me realize why in Philly they trashed their own town after not getting a win, they most likely would of done it even more so if they won.
I heard their hockey fans are the worst after a big game.
Ball slamming.... a case of not knowing room etiquette. Such as people sticking their cue in pocket as a holder or sitting on table, flipping a coin over the table, etc. Etiquette and strictly that.
Phila...Might have happened anywhere..if not the Eagle's it would be in a different city. People are people ...once the crowd starts anything goes.
My .02 on the the wreckless behavior is DUI....
Phila has hiccups but what a great place to grow up.(my time) Loved it. Take me back. The sports, shows, music, clubs.

Remember Camden NJ on mischief night... the city got trashed/burned. It was a yearly event/ritual. No sport loses involved... just something to do.

That room is better than ever. I commend the owner for doing it right.... and having Matt Suite (spelled correctly?) supplying and servicing the Diamonds. I hope it's ok to post his name...will delete for any reason.

Is this sort of like the trick where a full glass of liquid can go upside down and not spill coz of the forces applied by swinging it in an arc.

I'm in. Not my house though.

When Jim/Laura McDermott owned the TulsaBilliardPalace this kinda shit got you a one-way ticket out the door. Same with 'scoop jump shot' bs. That too would probably get you tossed. Jim and his staff didn't fk around. They took great care of the equipment.

Like children, they need to listen and learn and realize ones actions have consequences.
Personally, I think MR should hold one of their major events here, it's the hotbed of pool and 1/2 the pool players in the country are a days drive to his room.

There are plenty of douchebags in the world. The problem is...they don't realize that they are douchebags.

Was at an event in Albuquerque this past month.

What caught my attention was when the weekend night crowd started piling in and match play was about ended. 8-8;30 pm.
There was a group of younger men/women who rented a table.
Before they started.
They took the Full Ball Tray, and slammed it down on to the slate all at once.
Then proceeded to talk about it and giggle/laugh.
About 20 minutes later another group rented another table close by and did the Exact same thing.
In all my years of play, since the sixties, I've only seen this maybe once.
But these kids get all Jacked up with the noise and the pounding sound of 16 balls hitting the slate at all at once.

Today’s “children” of baby boomers have had little or no stress compared to our parents that went through the Great Depression, WWll, Korea and Vietnam. They are not subject to the draft. They have had luxuries Baby Boomer parents could not afford or were not available. They have inferior public school educations. The computer, cell phone, Facebook, Tik Tok, Pinterest, Twitter and other forms of social media are their companions. I’ve just named a few reasons you are witnessing this behavior. I failed to mention a they’ve established dress code that resembles Walmart bargain basement chic.

I've seen them dump a tray of balls on the 3 cushion table too.
Buck Z....
But not vertically, 12'' above the play surface, then drop/slam em Down, ALL 16 at once.
Dumping yes I've seen that but a vertical slam down, that's new to me.
The sound of it makes everyone ''look''. This generation of attention getters.

Kids today deal with a lot more than youve acknowledged.

same story, details change.
