At the end of the day, a cuemaker said he did not make the cue.

EVEN IF HE DID MAKE IT, he said he did not so therefore it is NOT a TS cue.

The easiest cue to copy or forge would be these two cues.

1.) Southwest. I have had more than one cuemaker tell me that could make them and NOBODY would be able to tell....(that was an eye opener for me).

2.) I have thought about buying about 10 - 20 Frey sneaky petes and them marking them with TS....that would be too easy.:eek:

Trust me, there have been many on this board that have bought fakes, cues that have been altered by other cuemakers. I have had tons of PMs over the years and know it for a fact.

Even more, I have experience with maybe the top cuemaker in the country verifying a cue, and later it was proven to not be the case. There are no 100%, and if someone thinks there is, I will share this story privately.

Surely they all can't be wrong and Tim is right. They have computers and can type! And there is only one Tim and lots of them.That makes them right.

Again, I have absolutely no doubts that Tim didn't make the cue. He did not make the cue. Do I need to make my words bigger? I do not think that there is a soul on AZ that thinks he did. I have no way to prove my gut feeling as the person that can prove it is dead. My gut has served me well in the past. Told me to buy some cues. It also told me to pass on some cues. It didn't buy the ID that Tim made on the Tascarella. I got PM's telling me that I was wrong for questioning the ID, but guess what? My gut was right. You jumped on it and said how you could tell it was a Scruggs. Guess what? You were wrong. I post an ivory jointed jointed cue that you say was a McDermott. you guessed it. you were wrong again. it was a Kikel. if it had a 3/8x10 pin it wouldnt be so bad but it was a flat-faced 5/16x18 joint. To be honest, I can't tell you the last time I read a post that you made and thought to myself "He is right." I am sure it has been about a decade. For someone that authenticates cues you sure are wrong an awful lot. And if you think that Tim could pick up the phone and get that cue cut up then you really need help. He would probably have to spend $50k in lawyer and court costs to prove it was counterfeit. Somehow, I just don't see that happening. But that is just my gut talking.
 
How many potential Scruggs buyers may now question the validity of a prospect cue, thus driving down prices? Mission accomplished I suppose. No need for large print. :grin-square:

There are at least one full splice TS Cues out there and it has no logo.

Nick, I swear, sometimes I feel like I need a secret decoder ring to understand this "info" that you put out here. What about this, in the other thread? With so many fakes out there, buyers should no doubt approach TS cues with caution. :(

The Cue will be one of many fake TS Cues to come. Easiest way to turn a $600 build into $1900 is to put a TS on it and wait for a sucker.
The no logo Cues were built for someone else and Joe sold his Cues on consignment. Joe received his TS Cues from him over the years on consignment as did John Wright.

Left out "full spliced". Don't buy a Full splice TS Cue. There isn't any. Never was. They did make one or two unlogoed conversions. The conversions were not worthy of the company logo. Don't buy any full splice TS Cues. No way. Never happened.

Dave, i havn't talked to Nick for years. Don't pay any attention to his rantings. Mike converted many Titlist full splice and put logos on them most had ivory joints and a big pin. I don't see why he couldn't have converted this cue. After all he was probably paid cash if he did. Mike was generous to people and would do things for them to be nice. Sorry he didn't tell Nick everything he did.

My very first Mike made with the MC logo 8 pointer with bridged veneers is unchalked. Original new condition.

Changing my vote

Maybe Mike built the cue, maybe he didn't. We will never know. I do believe that if it were a genuine Tim Scruggs cue released from his shop, the flaw in the logo would not have made it past his final inspection. Nice cue, but I have to change my vote to it being a "fake", regardless of who actually built it.

It's probably not a "flaw".....it's simply a little bit of the filler that's come loose and fallen out at the tip. Happens all the time with these type of engravings in butt caps. A little rub with a black crayon and it's right back in there.

The logo is wrong. Not explaining it. Said it weeks ago. Didn't need a close up to see that said the blind man. Bob did tell me one day and some day will come. That is how you are spoken of privately.
The word I am searching for is fake. The logo is that.

The logo is 100% authentic IMHO and matches my Scruggs logo ferfectly. Of course Ray and Stevie or someone who craves attention may argue that.

The logo is cut in with a c&c cutting bit then a black crayon is rubbed across it to fill it in then wiped off to complete the logo process. What is seen is not a defect in the logo just simply a little of the black crayon popped out. When the cue was released from the shop the logo was completely filled in. A lot of the TS logos and other makers logos have the same thing happen over time.
