I have always found it a little embarrassing that a monkey was brain damaged by a high fever and then took up walking erect! Speaking of walking erect, the researchers now say that man first started walking erect and then came down out of the trees rather than the other way around. Having tried walking erect in a tree after watching one too many Tarzan movies as a child I find this very believable. Coming down out of a tree is a pretty natural result of walking erect in them.
