OK, I’m going to hell. I laughed!
I was on a 34' boat trolling for salmon in Resurrection Bay (Seward, AK) and was up chatting with the capt (friend of a friend) when out of nowhere a whale popped up about 50 yards in front of us headed in our direction. He sounded the horn and I ran back and helped reel in the poles so we didn't snag him. Pretty cool experience.
EDIT: The whale came up about 1/4-1/2 mile away, we could tell because that's where all the other boats started to congregate, we kept fishing
Our catch from that weekend. Salmon on Saturday and Halibut and Rock Fish on Sunday. I'm on the left, my clients/friends are next to me.

And since this is the funny thread - the husband and wife next to me turned out to be good friends and he worked on the north slope as an EMT so was gone quite a bit. One night I'm sitting around the house and the wife (the girl in the pic - not my wife) sent me a nude pic . About 10 seconds later I get another, very simple, text saying "Please delete that". Her and her hubby were having a little fun over the phone and she fat fingered something (pun intended) .
