I remember seeing them on a few cars but never on any that my family had .
In the town where I grew up at there wasn't much for parallel parking believe it or not .
Diagonal parking was on main street near the business section .

Well I wasn't old enough to be passed out in the gutter...
Never had one on any of the family, or my cars. I did park a car for a lady once that could not parallel park. That "springy" thing brushed the curb,..... I couldn't believe how loud it was! Somehow it gets magnified and WOW!, you could be deaf and hear that!
