Without a notice of receipt or someone that can verify you received it, how can they hold you responsible?

Tell it to the judge.

Mailing violation notice via first class mail to the address on record is sufficient in the jurisdictions around me.

But the jurisdictions using these cameras are often underfunding that effort. They issue the tickets no prob, but don't have the manpower to enforce them.

They were talking the other day about DC and they had something like 14 million dollars in unpaid violations of this type. Not sure what the time frame was.

My ticket table:
I was out a couple months ago and parked my car in a subway lot. I came back and there was a ticket on my car, expired registration. Pissed me off too, because my dam inspection sticker clearly said September expiry and the ticket was hung about 8" from it.

Could either go to court or pay the $50 and the court thing would have entailed morning rush hour, expensive parking and missed work or me time.

I bitched about it to everyone who would listen, then after a week or so... I realized it expired in September of 2023. D'oh.

Sent the $50 and prob should have said thanks too!

A ticket issued to the vehicle is different, because the issuance is considered fundamental notice. Now I do know that certain jurisdictions allow for that, but AZ, they specifically passed legislation making actual serving to the person a requirement.

p.s. I don't want to keep cluttering up the funny pic/gif thread with this, so this'll be my last response regarding it.

In CO, it's because traffic cams are run by private corporations.
A summons must be served by a peace officer or officer of the court (process server).

I got one when I lived in an apartment, unit #16. In the words of Jimi, if a six could be a nine, I don't mind.
