Our elevation is around 4,000' here and one of last snow storms dumped close to 3' of snow here , we've got drifts close to 5' in the yard and my snowmobile is buried under a bit more snow than that .
In 2017 before the end of December we had received more than 180" of measurable snow thankfully we get enough wind to keep the snow moving so it fills in the coulee's and valleys like no other .
My old Toyota 4 Runner has 4 mud and snow 8 ply tires on it my water well service rig has 10 ply mud and snow tires then if needed I've got extremely heavy duty tire chains th as t I built for both of them .
You wouldn't believe how much snow I've plowed through to get off the top of the big horn mtns after a successful buffalo hunt that pickup was chained up for over 140 miles up on the mountains .
With a older Ford 3/4 ton 4wd I had to stop and clean out the snow in front of the radiator , and had close to 2' of snow on the roof of the cab and topper after busting through a snow drift to get out of there .

Forgive me , I've never seen traction socks before ha ha I'll show my age all I know about are tire chains and tarp straps to keep them tight . With either so small diameter rope or wire to tie up the inside extra chain links .

I'm out!

Last summer, I was visiting a friend and he mentioned they had downhill Nationals nearby and we should go check it out. We did, and as I walked up to the top of the course, I looked at some of the features and thought, yeah, I could ride that.. no, no way I even try...etc...

Then, as I watch riders come down I heard the announcer say the 13 and under girls were on the course.

Sure enough, here comes a little girl , rolling through stuff that was in my no way group.
