I saw a special on Boston crows and how smart they were. It seems they had a problem while checking out road kill. They seemed to be able to avoid getting hit by cars but not by trucks. They would post a sentinel crow to a high point to over watch for traffic and when a car would approch they would sound off with a caw.caw, caw but since they couldnt pronounce truck they were often hit by trucks. Seems reasonable to me.
