I've been caught in the rain with the top down and as long as I maintained at least 30 MPH, the interior and I stayed dry. It was those darned traffic lights that messed it up.

I introduced my new wife to one of my favorite old taverns on the Texas Gulf coast many years ago. We arrived at lunch at stayed several hours, having a great time with the bar tenders and locals. As it approached dinner time my wife insisted that we go back to our rental and change, since she'd brought some nice clothes along for the occasion. The locals were surprised we were leaving, since we were all having so much fun, but I assured them we'd be back soon. I explained 'we have to go change from our afternoon drinking clothes to our evening drinking clothes'.
We've been back many times over the years, and my wife understands now that we don't need to 'dress up' to enjoy a Texas bar.
I do miss those hurricane parties.
