Sounds about right. I was in Nashville at the time, and it may have been $2100 or even $2200, but maybe that was the final after taxes and what not. Can't remember now. I was still in High School, working at Hill's Grocery store part-time, and my parents co-signed on the note. Man, I thought I was cool, and the freedom having a car brought was great.

I had two 1971's, one a bug and the other a super bug.

The super bug was better with the longer front end or was it just a bigger trunk? Both red.
