self checkouts at all places were really designed for the people who only have a few items. I think we all have had that experience when you are at the store with like 3 things stuck behind lines of people with full carts and how long it takes. Self checkouts allow people with few items to get through fast. Now with places having issues getting and keeping workers, it has become more the norm, especially when a place is short staffed.

I think it got intrenched by Covid. The cashiers didn’t want the contact.
There was a member (cannot remember his name) who had an avatar of his girlfriend (?) kissing a lobster. Someone must remember his name. Anyway, I found his girlfriend who went off the rails with the lobster love!
