The consequence of engineering is that sometimes things go wrong. The people who decided not to recall were the culprits and I doubt the engineers as a whole agreed. They should have blown the whistle, tho.

The same design and manufacturing flaw was present in the Mustangs but the Pintos were the only ones brought up.
