G 10 pin

I would like some opinions on G10 pin compared to the others are they just as good thanks.

Lots of threads about this on here.

I think you will find that once the cue is assembled, you can't tell what pin is on it.

The g10 is far lighter than metal.

G10 is very hard and requires special cutting tool.
 
if you like the way a house cues play, G10 pins sort of gets you there. Weighs less than steel, I think almost an oz less. To me, cues with a G10 pins are livelier. Do they really put more balls in the hole, who knows :-)

I've had them and they feel no different. The weight allows you to change balance point vs. a steel pin.
 
If you drop your cue (unassembled) just perfectly the pin will snap off! I know this first hand lol the same hit might just bend a steel pin! At my ability I can't tell a difference in the two pins other than the cool factor of having something different
 
All I know

G 10 is a very hard material and cue maker Pat Diviney offers them in a "radial pin" and he told me it is very good pin material. A buddy has a cue with one and likes it.

I think it will work ok and would be my pin material of choice if I was going for a light weight cue.
 
take a cue with a steel pin and shoot a few racks and then change the pin to G10...... shoot a few more racks and you will feel the difference........... they do not break..... of course if you do something stupid you can break or bend any pin.............

G10 gives a lot more feel of the hit...........

I'm in total agreement with whammo57...G 10 pins play fantatastic.

The G 10 pin was first introduced by Joe Gold of Cognoscenti cues who went to Atlas and asked that they make this pin.

Although Joe has made 3,000+ cues the bulk of which are G 10,
my Cog is one of 7 with a titanium pin :thumbup:

Yes the G 10 is lighter and makes for livelier play.

I cannot tell the difference. To get a comparison 2 matching cues...1 with a G10 and the other with a different pin would have to used.
 
G10 can be somewhat abrasive to the shaft threads, this is more the case with 3/8-10 pins, than the Radial ones, as the thread profile is more rounded.
