g-core shaft?

I would like to start by saying that I am new to AZ. I am a great bar player but would like to become more of a league player, if that makes sense. I have decided to buy a new cue, a Mcdermott with a g-core shaft. I love the fact it has a life time warranty on warping. I would like to buy a fancy custom but I live too crazy of a lifestyle (3 kids) to buy one. I'm looking for simple, constant, and warranty. Any thoughts on the g-core shaft before I pull the trigger?
 
Chuck...The G-Core shaft is a great choice, and McDermott stands behind them. They come standard on some of McD's cues. Personally, I also really love the hit of the Tiger Pro X shafts. I own both and they play very similarly.

There are some McDermott dealers on the forums that sell these at very good prices, so you may want to seek them out.
 
If you are a bar table player and are used to a house cue, the G would be a good choice. I bought one but found that the low mass graphite core a great idea but too stiff for me.

I shoot with a Z2.
 
I play with a McDermott cue and a McDermott I-3 shaft. The I-3 also has a graphite shaft. Great player. Their Maintenance Program can't be beat. Excellent service from a company that really stands behind their product..
 
Excellent cue and shaft. McDermott has been around for a long time, for a reason. The G-core shaft is a really nice shaft, for the money.

Thanks guys, I feel a lot more comfortable making my purchase. I hope it plays as good as my old solid maple shaft mcdermott.
