G10 epoxy glass pin

The G-10 Radial pin is available from Uni-Loc Corp. and distributed by Atlas Billiard Supply for any CM to use in their cues. I believe there are other pin configurations of the G-10 mtrl. being offered now as well.
 
I have used the G-10 in some of my cues although my primary pin is the 3/8-10 modified brass. Mostly I used the G-10 to save weight in the front end. Sometimes uncored heavy woods such as Ebony are great with the G-10 pin. The G-10 does have some elasticity when tightened and some feel that produces a better tighter joint mating. If your looking for a cuemaker that used this pin exclusively try Mike Durbin, his stuff is high quality.
 
Chudy uses the G-10 pin. I'm looking HARD at one right now. From what I gather, they're great pins....albeit I don't think I've ever played with a cue that used one.
 
I like mine

Playing with a 3/8"-10 G10 pin and I like mine. I don't know about the G10 stretching, I think it may stretch less than some of the metal pins. One of the big benefits is that it is a machined pin where some of the metal pins are machined, some are rolled. I haven't been pleased with rolled pins.

I guess a few do. My playing cue is a Dominiak with a G10 pin. I had a Diveney with the G10 as well.
 
I have a Diveney sneaky with the g10 radial pin, nice hitting cue. Does make for a more rearward balanced cue all other things being equal.
 
G-10 pins

I also use G-10 pins on most of my cues although I will also use aluminum, brass and SS.

Interesting!!!.....I never figured aluminum to be used as a cue pin material. I guess some of the alloys used by Boeing or NASA would be suitable. Is that what you use???
 
Joe Gold/Cognoscenti made some of his joint pins out of titanium for a few years. Now I believe they are all G-10. They sure play beautifully.

6061

6061 is readily available and quite adequate for the job, probably far stronger than many of the brass joints if not all of them. I have a piece of aluminum I purchased laying around my shop somewhere which is similar to 6061 except still stronger. I'm going to try it as some short snooker style ferules when I get some of those roundtuits that are the rarest material of all to find.
