Usually, yes. I have seen a few radial-profile G10 pins but 3/8x10 is by far the most common.Is a G10 pin, a 3/8 x 10 pin ?

Lots of folks swear by them. I personally dont like them, but YMMV.
I think they are used for weight and balance more than anything specific to the material vs a metal pin but that was from reading about them years ago so my memory may be off a bit.
