If john wins this set, do they have to play a second one?

gotta take schmidt in this one, imo he plays a touch better and if gabe dogged a hill hill runout against Luat his mind may not be all there against John. I know id be thinking about if i finished my runout i wouldnt even be playing this match, id be waiting on the Luat-Schmidt match. if gabe wins it will show just how mentally tough he is. prediction John Schmidt 11 Gabe Owen 5

Final score 11-5. Wow! Maybe you should play the lottery today!

What's the finals format? Race to 11 too? BTW, congrats to both John Schmidt and Gabe Owen for a job well done!

that was not too tough to see, i did play an extra # in the lottery last night, numbers i "felt"....anyway with three numbers played i was 0 for18, not one number right.

as far as schmidt luat goes i see schmidt winning 11-9. IMO John also plays a touch better than Luat in nine

No, this isn't the finals. Even in the finals they don't play two sets...
I saw a post a couple of days ago, that said it was "true double elimination" and I did not know if it was true.

I hope he beats Luat. It'd be cool to have an AZB forums member as the new US Open champ.

Cut my own post off. But John plays a touch better than Luat in nine ball and has a better break. I expect a close match. Hopefully John wins. IMO he is the best American pool player for the money. next is corey deuel then johnny archer or dennis hatch.

Thanks Colin! Hey, you won't hear me complain. 3rd place is great in the U.S. Open! That's a pretty good share to get with the kind of competition each player has to face going in.
But that little bobble in the hill/hill match with Luat cost soooo much! :)
