Not 100% sure about this but the commentators just announced that Ramil Gallego has just eliminated Efren Reyes. It appears that Efren was ahead most of the game but Gallego was still able to beat him.

Impressive. Gallego has won nine matches in a row, knocking out Hohmann, Bustamante and now Reyes. Immonen will try for his ninth straight match win shortly, too.

yes, it is now confirmed that Gallego has defeated the great Efren Reyes 11 to 4. Who would have thought about it that Gallego would still be in the tournament and Reyes, Bustamante, Pagulayan, Luat have all been eliminated.

Is he capable of winning this tournament though?

I am so mad at this... just when I am going to the US Open tomorrow (9AM Saturday) he's gone :D I hope Reyes and Bustamante are there tomorrow so they can sign my cue

Oh deer..maybe not enough mental stamina..

I watched Efren yesterday and he had his hair nice and neatly cut. so whats my point?.....Everytime I see Efren with his hair nice he dosent play as good, when he looks like he just got out of bed he plays his best. Call me crazy but I have paid careful attention to this, I noticed it years ago at Hardtimes and will stand by it, when his hair is messy bet on him with both hands.

Efren is far from being "not the shot maker he once was" as quoted by one of the commentators yesterday. He has along time before we need to worry about Efrens game-nobody can expect to win everytime. He is STILL the best. When he isnt a shot maker he will just jump up 3 more balls in 1P. The world gets 8-5 ala Keith a few years ago.

Is it that the luck of the draw pits Pinoys vs Pinoys or is it that there are so many entered? Like the bad hair observation, I have observed Efren and Busta beaten by his countrymen often - they are all so good. Parica is playing very well as well.

Let's make that ten in a row, as Gallego has added Parica to his list of victims.

Truly impressive run by Gallego. If he beats Corey, he might be a dark horse to win this tournament. I would never have imagined him beating Edwin Montal, Bustamante, Hohmann, Reyes and now Jose Parica in 1 day.

A lot of people are talking about Ulrich but Ramil Gallego has been overlooked. If you like at ALL the remaining 8 players, he IS the one who has beaten the most difficult list of opponents.

Tough match for Efren. Gallego's first four racks consisted of two 9s on break and two early 9s. He added another early 9 with a pretty lucky kick IMO. Efren never really got it in gear.

Don't know why everyone is so shocked at Ramil's run. Didn't he make the finals in SRO 29? I don't remember, I can't find my copy of that match.

One thing is for sure.. He played very much a cut above your average pro in that tourney. I wanna say he shot something ridiculous like a .944 or something...
