Gambled for food?

I was having a conversation today and mentioned how it would be a nice spin to actually gamble for food. Like race to 5 for 100 double cheeseburgers. The loser would have to call in, order, and pay for them after each set on the phone. Race to 9 for 20 sesame chicken lunches delivered?

Or race for a whole pizza delivered to the pool hall. Loser has to pay for it.

I think since I have plenty of money from my job if someone asks me to gamble I'm going to throw that bet at them and see if anyone takes it.

I would take a bet like that just for the sheer originality and experience of it. Been in many pool halls and never heard a story like that before.

Thinking about it.. you know everyone would LOVE to watch you gamble. they would probably get in on the bet to have a say in what food the bet is for. And of course the spectators would be the winners becauase of the food haha.

Think

A good meal could cost a lot more then the wagers so people play for. I'm a big fan of Sushi and let me tell you the biggest mistake i ever made was letting the kids try it. When we get it now it runs me well over $100.

Food

Not really the same thing but I once beat a guy out of like $30 at the bar as they were announcing last call. He had no more money and asked me to spot him $5 for Taco Bell. I agreed, couldn't leave him hanging without after the bar food!

me and a large group of folks are on vacation and went to party one night at to eat at this nice place with a bar and all.everybody gets crablegs, lobster and steak and several drinks(after several before we get there).long story short my buddy starts woofin about fliping a coin.i said ok lets flip for the bill, everybodys bill,he says ok.we flip,i lose he keeps woofin so we agree to just flip for the bill after every meal for the rest of our stay,i lose every single flip:eek: needless to say it was an expensive vacation but everyone ate good and we all had a ball so kind of hard to put on price on that:)

You'd have to have quite the appetite to eat 100 doubles. :)

Yes indeed. It's the same as I have on my table :) It's actually called "Electric Blue" but you were close enough.

That sounds like an interesting concept.

Since you say you have plenty of money from your job, would you mind sending me enough so that I might try this gambling for food thing.? :)

When I was in high school, those little milk-cartons were 10 cents each which is obviously ridiculously cheap. Well, it only took a dare and a lack of foresight and a bunch of us were buying dozens of milks and chugging them to see who could drink the most.

Let's just say the bathroom pass was a hot commodity for the rest of the afternoon.

I've gambled for dinner many times. Seems obvious, you're there practicing with a friend, get hungry, and don't wanna pay. I've won/lost anything from Mcdonald's to steaks (including bar tab). This is a good way to make a friendly wager in my book.

Wonder what the people at mcdonalds would think if they got 3 different calls for 200 double cheeseburgers...

probably the same thing they think when 2 buses pull up in the parking lot filled with grade school baseball players..........i love my job:rolleyes:

I've done races to 7 for the cheap chinese buffet next door many times. Beat a pro once for the sea food buffet at Dennys.

Years ago, there was a guy who literally lived in the pool room. He would gamble for his dinner (and breakfast and lunch).

Why go through the work of playing pool? Whenever Matt H. and I eat out...I just buy.

But of course it is. Belive it or not, I did know it was "Electric Blue". It's on my home table as well. The inversion was not on purpose. I must have had other things on my mind as I typed. :)

Nice, uh,...pool table.
