It always makes me sad when a pool hall closes...just doesn't seem right. Must be a sign of the times.

Bill and Billy's in Arnold, MD also just closed.

It is an all new world out there...

Sad times indeed. Really, pool as we knew and loved is over. I can't see it coming back ever... Rents are just to high for the space you need. What we will get in the future are the sell drinks and food first, and "oh by the way, we have some pool tables" places.....But even those are going away.

I knew of your place and always tried to stop by when I stayed at Sebago Lake. You weren't open in the days. I never could seem to pull myself away from adult beverages around the campfire at night.

The good news is there is a whole new world out there. It is not as much fun. But, it isn't as cynical either. When my regulars would annoy me I used to say "As far as the eye can see is my kingdom". Now that I am out again in the real world I can't even see the horizon!

Good luck. I miss the old days of the All About Pool Tour and the kinship I felt with the other room owners. Last I knew Kerry was still hanging in and TJ and Cuhna as well. I don't know if there are many more.

It was not only the rent.....but the insurance....the non-smoking laws.....the liquor licenses......the constant gang accumulation.....(even in maine).......it just bacame too difficult.
