I heared that 5k added statement is gone, no money added now.
If that's the case. What about the One-Pocket tournament?

Does anybody know any of the results of the 9-ball tourney so far?

Oscar Dominguez got 9th-12th
He lost to Max Eberle hill hill
The money added was not guaranteed so I didnt bother wasting my time going over there
I dont know the owner personally, but I have not heard one good thing about him
which is why everyone was really sketchy about this tournament

I just got confirmation that no money was added
supposedly Gary added 2k but the players told me the money doesnt add up
so pretty much he scammed a bunch of people over to his place

Here's what everybody wanted. The payout worked like this:

29 players at $75.00 = 2175
24 players at $150.00 = 3600
total entry fees = 5775
added monies = 2500
total = 8775
minus green fees (20.00 x 53 players) = 1060
tournament director fees = 415
total prize fund = $6800.00

payouts;

1st place 2100.00
2nd place 1300.00
3rd place 800.00
4th place 500.00
5-6 place 350.00 each = 700.00
7-8 place 250.00 each = 500.00
9-12 place 150.00 each = 600.00
13-16 place 75.00 each = 300.00

grand total paid out = $6800.00

Want proof on the flier. This web site has posted the flier including the based on 128 players in its tours and tournaments section for 4-5 weeks already. You obviously read this web site more often than you do mine.

As for the fellow who called on the phone, he was very suspicious and rude when he called not even saying hello. Just asking if I added the $5000.00 and giving me a phony name. I was very busy as you can imagine with the tournament going on and didn't have the time for what appeared to be an accusatory caller.

As for the misinformed person from Missouri who hides behind a nickname on this web site I would like to say that it's people like you that hurt the pool world by printing rididulous accusations toward me and my pool room when you don't even know me nor have you ever been here.

I would loved to have added the $5000.00 to the tournament and instructed Keith Stewart, the TD to do so with a minimum 100 players. With only 53 players showing up I could not justify adding the full amount.

With all the hard work that me and my wife Vicki put in preparing for this event it sickens me that we not only lose money but also have to get persecuted by a handful of misinformed people.

It took us 4 years to build the kind of pool room we feel is dedicated to pool players. With 20 Gold Crown III's with Artimus rails and fresh Simonis cloth to meet pool players standards, clean bathrooms, clean carpet, non-smoking atmosphere, low music, good food and beer. What better conditions for a pool tournament? It is our practice that we write the players name on their cup so that they can save money on refills and the no gum helps keep the carpet always looking clean. I am cancelling my One Pocket Tournament in January which would have been the largest One Pocket Tournament in So Cal. If you see a flier on it throw it out. We wouldn't want any misinformed readers.

Going into this event I knew I was going to lose money but I wanted to give something back to the players and show off our beautiful room. To take this kind of bashing makes me never want to do this kind of event again.

I want to thank all the people who supported it and enjoyed the tournament without any negative feed back for all their support.

This kind of misinformed bashing is why pool is in the state it is in.

Gary and Vicki, there is a thread on the MAIN PAGE about your great tournament. There were more people giving it PRAISE and ACCOLADES than there were naysayers. I hope you have a chance to read it when you rest up after this event. I am sure you are both exhausted.

You don't know me, but I'm just a lowly pool fan. However, I thank you both for your efforts and appreciate your contribution to the pool world. Without folks like you, pool would be a dead fish in the water.

Gary,

You may not remember me but we talked about 5 months ago when I was up there promoting my 14.1 Straight Pool Tournament. I'm sorry about all the negative publicity ya'll recieved over last weekend. I was going to participate in the event but I was unable to make it due to family obligations. I must say, I'm very disappointed about the cancellation of the one-pocket event. I'm not much of a one-pocket player, but I am a fan of the game and I was excited about making the trip and watching. I even worked my next Straight Pool Tournament around your event. Although I don't blame you for being somewhat insulted and pissed off, I hope that, down the road, you reconsider having other events. I've practiced in your room before and yes it is a beautiful room with great equipment. I'm the guy that is putting Straight Pool Tournaments together in SoCal and I can ONLY HOPE that something like this doesn't happen to me. Here we are, trying to further the game we love so much that we are willing to sacrafice our time and money to see this sport have life and then something like this happens. Your right, that is why our sport is in the state it is in. Gary, keep your chin up and Hang in there.

Talk to you later,
