GC 4 Pocket Castings

I just bought a GC 4 from a private owner. He purchased it 3-4 years ago from a Brunswick dealer. Everything about the table is excellent--like new, except for the six copper color pocket castings. They have a little wear and tear which I could live with, but they also have quite a bit of pitting which looks and feels very bad. The rest of the "copper trim" like the 4 feet castings are perfect. I have heard that Brunswick will refinish these at "no charge" as there was a defect in the manufacturing process at some point. Can anyone offer advice on how I might go about this as a second owner or am I totally out of luck. Is it possible to purchase a new set from Brunswick? Is there a special contact at Brunswick? Any info is much appreciated...

Call them and try to register the table for warrenty I have been able to register 2 so far and the sent me new castings even though I wasnt the original owner. I just called them to register then wait 2 months call in about the casting's I think they sell new ones for around $400 a set if you cant get them through warrenty...

Appreciate the info... What do they want to know when registering? How do you purchase parts from Brunswick? Wonder if they have a parts list available? Thanks Again...

The best thing to do is to have them powder coated. If I can find a picture I will post it. I have been recovering tables at a pool room that we powder coated all the casting and they still look great. I get them done in a copper penny vein. It is a textured finish and it really holds up. For some reason Brunswick has never put a really good finish on their castings.

Typically you go to a Brunswick dealer to order Brunswick table parts.

I just thought there might be a way to order direct from Brunswick. The dealers around here don't really seem too helpful unless you purchased the table from them at full list price. Thanks...

Appreciate the info... Does this "copper penny vein" end up matching the Cast Feet and the Rail Trim on the Gold Crown 4? Thanks...

You can call Brunswick at 800-336-8764 but they will probably direct you to a local dealer.
I've not known Brunswick to sell parts directly.
I don't recall if someone mentioned it but Brunswicks warranty applies to the original table owner as of 1998.
Regardless, no harm in asking if the warranty provision can be used. At worst they say no.

You may be able to find what you need here - http://www.classicbilliards.net/html/anniversary_centennial_goldcro.cfm
or try calling Blatt Billiards at 800-252-8855

Powder coating

Here is a photo of the powder coating that we get done. I was just at a room that we did all the castings 2 years ago and they look fine. The Brunswick finish does not hold up. The color is called copper penny vein and it is a textured finish.

Thanks Steve for the photo... I have actually played at a room near me here in CT that had that same finish on the pocket castings. Any idea what that cost to get done? Thanks Again, Vinny

You need to go talk to your local powder coater. I pay around $30 a piece, they have a minimum charge for doing jobs. They also have a lot of colors to choose from.
