GCIV counters?

Just curious why, I like the clean look w/o the counters and it seems like it may be a bit of a project.

I would like the retro look. I see Ken Hash has them to fit GC3's. Just got me wondering if the rails have the same contours. If its just measureing and cutting slots I don't think it would be to difficult. But I just thought maybe some one had already tried it and could lend some insight. Don:)

When I first got my 4 I didn't even know that it did not have counters. At first I was a little bummed because I play a lot of straight pool, but I just like the clean look without them and I like the fact they aren't in the way ever on rail shots. I made my own 14.1 counter using the double scorers dropped into holes I cut in the top of a cigar box so that took care of my issue scoring straight pool (I hate beads).

I'm not real handy so I cringe a little thinking of taking a router to the rails, but I suppose it really is no big deal for someone who is.

Thanks for the reply and good luck.

I would like to install counters on my GCIV if its practical. Ever done it? Don

I have not done it, but imagine it would be simple to do. If it was my project, I would get a hold of some of the GC1 or GC2 counters. They are much more attractive and a little sturdier. After that, it would just be a matter of measuring, and CAREFUL cutting. But a doable project none-the-less.

If and when, If and when. Just a vagrant thought really. You do make a valid point though about shooting over them.
