I'm really surprised at the lack of exposure that this tournament is getting on these forums. I think that the money is great for a regional tournament, and I think those putting on the tournament will do a stand-up job. I really hope that the field gets filled, and I'm already practicing to prepare for some of the champions that should be attending. Kim says if all goes well, he hopes that this will be an annual event with more money added each year...

I'll spread the word here in the Ham (Birmingham).

Thanks to Kim and Johnny for bringing the South another great tournament!

Will there be enough room for those that want to watch the tourny or will it fill up ??? Not sure how big the venue is and would hate to ride up to watch and not be able to get in though ... I will come anyway if just to see the cues on display ...

I spoke with Rik (Tikkitavi), and he said that he is going to try and have a few qualifiers next Friday night if anyone is interested. He's also talking about having a winner take all/midnight madness type tournament if people are interested. Post, PM, or call if anyone wants more information. It's a great room with great equipment. Hope to see everyone there!

The Marietta Billiard Club is a very large pool room. There should be plenty of room.

Kim Davenport is taking the sign-ups, and, if I remember correctly, the names he gave me (as of two weeks ago) are himself, Johnny Archer, Corey Deuel, John Schmidt, Hillbilly, and alot of the players who follow the Seminole Tour. I know it sounds like a small list of players right now, but I'm sure the event will be great. Plus, I can't really remember all the name he told me.

I'll probably play too.

A-feared-a

a-feared-a black-balled? Ok, I'll b honest. I'm a bit a-feared-a Johny. Even though I've beaten him 9-1 twice he's up 14 matches to 8. That didn't keep me from sending my entry in though. Kim, corey, schmidt, and hillbilly are great players as well and I'm sure a couple more champions will sign up before it starts. Sounds like a good tournament.
