Does anybody have any idea what year It's George stopped using a Fellini style latch? I have an early 2x2 George that has the old latch and was just curious as to how old it may be. My guess is mid 80's. Also, how rare are the 2x2 cases? I haven't seen many. Thanks

According to Chris Tate's website, the fellini latch was used up until 1995.

i bought a new george case in 1990 or '91 with the newer lock style, still have it. also have one of the older ceses w/fellini style lock. happy to have both keys.

Could be anywhere from mid 1980's to early 1990's.
This ad showed up in a pool mag in 1995 still showing the old style latches. The photo could have been a year or two old at the time. You can compare your case to these:

Notice how the pockets on most of the cases weren't long enough for jump cues? These designs were made before jump cues were popular in the later 1990's.
