Get rid of jump cues for Mosconi Cup

Shawn "the jump cue designer" Armstrong. has a nice ring to it doesn't it. The man whom Falcon at the behest of Jim Wych and Geoff ?? (sorry that other name doesn't mean anything to me) turned to in their desperate hour of need when they coulnd't figure out how to make a jump cue. Shawn graciously took a few hours out of his busy sales day to whip up a prototype which became the world reknowned Falcon TNT Break Jump cue. It explodes balls like an egg to your face.

But then Shawn lives now in eternal regret having unleashed the TNT on the pool world as millions of potentially good players are hobbled by their dependency on the cue he created and forgo building their kicking skills forever doomed to be lower level league players who don't know how to do anything but pull out their jump cue. His guilt eats him from the inside and he spends days and nights obsessing about how to undo this horror he bestowed on the world. He is relentless in sharing his opinion that jump cues are an abomination that should be banned on AZ billiards at every opportunity in the eternal hope that someday someone in power will see his pleas. He hopes that they will feel his anguish and agree with him and immediately ban jump cues so that he can have peace in his soul again.

John..I have tried to remain neutral in your ongoing battles with your detractors! ..But I must say something I'm sure 'everyone' else has noticed..You have a very eloquent way of talking down to them..Your way with words is admirable..And, your customer relationship, is impeccable! (BTW, how do you fire a customer?) :eek: But, you seem to take a lot of 'middle ground', when it comes to specifics!

For instance...Are you for or against 'jump cues'?..What gives you the audacity to speak on behalf of 'most' professional pool player's?..Are you for, or against CTE..(scratch that last one, you are living proof) :o)...You seem to have a burning desire, to make everyone think you know, about all there is to know about...well, everything!...Has the word 'humility' ever been part of your vocabulary? ..You are starting to make Mr3cushion look like a cub scout, when it comes to "knowing it all"! (and believe me, that ain't easy! :rolleyes:

I am for jump cues because I think that they have added a lot to the game.

I have never once in this thread or any other spoken on behalf of pro players when it comes to jump cues. Not for the minority, not for the majority. If pro players are against them then they should take it up with the rule makers. I am fairly sure that if a substantial number of them were to do that then those who make the rules would reconsider the subject.

I only "know it all" when it's a subject where I actually know it all. Why would you or Shawn ever want to take away something so small as knowing everything about jump cues? Jeeze it's not like I have done much else in my life except build cue cases and sell pool cues. Why not simply give me the respect on the few subjects I do actually know a lot about?

Dude I am sorry for you that you're confused and feeling guilty about jump cues. I actually feel bad that you don't really know any facts about them. I don't understand the pathology that drives you to make shit up to continue this farce but it does certainly make me have some sympathy for someone in your mental state.

I hope you can reconcile these conflicting feelings on jump cues and find peace someday.

The problem with your "contributions" to most threads it becomes the John-John-John show. Regardless of the topic you end up in a death spiral with someone else. Then it ends in one of the following ways:
  1. Closed by mods (i think even you would admit you are the heavy weight champion of thread killers)
  2. You declare yourself the "winner"
  3. You tire out the room and everyone forgets the original topic
  4. Even your buddies shake their heads and ask why

This one qualifies for most the above. Your a consistent young man...then you get banned...it was the trolls...you have done nothing for the industry...I promise I won't do this again...repeat...repeat...repeat.

Yes, you are chastising me. Instead of looking at the content and placing blame where it belongs you chose to cast it on me.

I didn't go off topic here, Shawn did. I didn't get personal and start with the disgusting slurs and false accusations and simply made-up statements of fact.

I am far from a victim son. I don't need to call you names to make my point. I also didn't call you a liar, I said your statements of fact were not correct. Big difference.

Now if you DELIBERATELY made shit up to look good then yes, you're a liar. But if you simply made shit up that you somehow thought was true-ish sounding or you actually thought it was true then you're simply mistaken.

I didn't in any way call you a LIAR but I did ask you if you had any proof of your STATEMENT OF FACT that us jump cue makers petitioned the WPA to change the rules.

Of course no proof was forthcoming because you can't possibly have proof of what doesn't exist.

Other than that I corrected a few other of your assertions that were incorrect, all without insulting you.

Go check the thread. You want to talk about who threw the first stone? Um, how about you saying that nothing I say on the subject matters because I sold jump cues?

The expression was "that's so gay". Referring to quoting a poker movie. It wasn't a homosexual slur. It was just dumb...gay can be used as a term to mean "happy". It's like using "wonderful" to be sarcastic.

Please find where I called you a leech on society. I haven't edited one of my posts. Show my words calling you a leech. Or, are you lying, John?

Shawn you should really quit. You have no chance. Again sorry that you have these mixed feelings about jump cues but don't let it put you in such an indefensible position where you're literally slathering on the keyboard rabidly unable to remember what you said just a few hours previously even with the benefit of being able to scroll up. That's getting pretty unstable and perhaps you should consider dropping it.

For everyone else, the Hammerhead Tip by KiTech is the BEST Jump and Break tip I have ever tried. It is so good that I am sure a 3 year old can jump with it with a little coaching. Or maybe with no coaching, the damn thing might be jumping by itself right now in my shop when no one is there.

Russ should have been banned. There is no place on a public forum to tell someone to _____ themself. He didn't need to put it into the message he posted to get his point across. He let his emotions get the best of him. RKC should be banned for what he's writing on this post, as well as some of his posts in the past. I don't lose sleep over it. I wouldn't get him to work on my pool table, and I don't think he'll lose sleep over that. I would never buy a case from John Barton, and I don't think he's losing sleep over that, either.

Ignore the people that bother you. If you don't, you're just allowing those people to torment you and consume space in your brain that they shouldn't occupy.

As far as Wilson, I've had my run ins with him. I have come to respect him. He has a thankless job. And everyone wants to point out his faults. He turned me into a gentler poster that doesn't blow up the way I used to a few years ago. So, I think he's been a positive influence.
